Protests in Tirana, the Muslim Community reacts for the first time

In an official statement, the Muslim Community of Albania says that it is following

attention to the latest developments in the country and the ongoing protests,

expressing concern for any situation that may threaten social peace,

security and coexistence among citizens.

“We believe that the right to express, to protest and to demand accountability is an important part of social life, while maintaining peace, respecting others and avoiding any form of violence is the common responsibility of all”.

“In these moments, honest reflection, wisdom and responsibility are needed from everyone, to assess the consequences of our words and actions on common life. We call on the institutions to respond seriously to the demands of citizens and all parties to show restraint, prudence and responsibility, avoiding inciting language, hatred and any action that could deepen the division between citizens, placing human dignity, security and the good of the country at the center of every decision-making”, it is said among others statement.

According to the Muslim Community, any dispute, no matter how complicated, must be resolved through dialogue, mutual listening and respect for the law and institutions.
