“They caught us in the protest, put us in a room and raped us”

A minor, 15 years old, told Albania Live moments of being arrested by the police during the protest.,

violence and detention for 72 hours in prison.

He said that after he was arrested along with some of his friends who had come out in protest,

they sent them to the premises of the Ministry of Education, where, according to him, they raped them.

Then they sent him to prison for 72 hours.

“They brought us to the ministry, there may have been more than 15 of us. They kept us for 30 minutes and abused us with rubber sticks. They pressured us: “Stay on the ground”, insulted us and provoked us to make any reaction and they shot us.

I was wearing a tear gas mask. There came a moment when a lot of tear gas came into the room and they closed the door, they left us there until we suffocated. Then they took us in a van and took us to police station no. 4.

They asked us questions, I answered them, they took pictures of us, they left us in a small room with three chairs, for over 8 hours. Then they told the house that I had to stay in jail for 72 hours. And we ended up at Mine Peza for 72 hours.

They kept us. We are not saying that it was bad at all for the food or our requests, but the environment was very bad, only one bed and two mattresses below. I was more frightened by the violence of the Eagles. It's the first time I go to a protest.

I wanted to be in the protest, more for myself and for the pressure they put on us...”, said the minor.
