Hamza: If we go to the elections, the law on the Special will start from the beginning

The chairman of the PDK, Bedri Hamza, has stated that his party's position on the adoption of the Law on Specialized Chambers remains unchanged, while he has warned that in the event of Kosovo going to elections, the procedure for this law will have to start from the beginning.

Hamza said that the PDK has held meetings with other political entities to find a solution, but according to him, the discussions cannot continue without a concrete result. He stressed that the law must be approved in both readings to have legal force.

According to him, if the process is not completed and the Assembly is dissolved to pave the way for the elections, the initiative cannot continue where it left off, but must be presented and examined again from the beginning.

Hamza underlined that the PDK has raised this issue as part of its political responsibility and not to benefit from any post or institutional position. He also questioned the reasons for the delay in the process, recalling that the law could have been voted on earlier.

Speaking about the issue of the president, the head of the PDK said that this topic should be treated separately and not conditioned on the approval of the Law on Specialized Chambers.

Hamza also spoke about the agreement with the former judge of the Constitutional Court, Bekim Sejdiu, clarifying that it is not an agreement of PDK. According to him, the agreement was made with the LDK and does not represent the position of his party.

The chairman of the PDK also criticized the procrastination of the solution for the president, saying that Kosovo has faced obstacles in the institutional functioning since August 7.

As for the political statement about the KLA war, Hamza said that the defense of the liberation war cannot be considered as the responsibility of PDK alone. He emphasized that the struggle of the KLA and the people of Kosovo is an issue that belongs to the entire society and political subjects.

In this context, Hamza said that the issues related to veterans, martyrs and war victims should be treated as common issues, regardless of political affiliation.
