A serious incident happened this Friday afternoon in the village of Livoç,
in Gjilan of Kosovo where a man and a woman were shot with firearms.
It is initially suspected that the man killed his wife and friend, under unclear circumstances.
It is reported that three other people were injured. The first suspicions are that the incident happened after the request for divorce by the woman.
Many police forces have arrived at the scene and are working to fully clarify the case.
In relation to the serious incident, the Klosova Police itself has reacted, which confirms that the victims are a male person, about 30 years old, who was found inside a car and a female about 30 years old, who is also suspected to have been killed by a firearm by the same suspect.
While it is known that the author of the event has surrendered and the officers have seized the weapon used in the double crime.
“Today, on 09.10.2026, around 2:25 p.m., the Kosovo Police, namely the Police Station in Gjilan, has received information regarding gunshots in the village of Livoç i Ulët, in the Municipality of Gjilan.
Immediately after receiving the information, the relevant police units, as well as two state prosecutors, went to the scene, in which case it was established that it is a serious incident, where it is suspected that a male person, about 30 years old, was killed by a firearm, who was found inside a car. The Director of DRP, Gjilan, also came to the scene.
At the General Hospital in Gjilan, a female person, about 30 years old, was brought without signs of life, who is suspected to have also been killed by a firearm by the same suspect.
Meanwhile, another person, who suffered gunshot wounds, after receiving first aid at the Emergency Department of the General Hospital in Gjilan, was transferred to the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (QKUK), for further medical treatment.
According to initial information, it is suspected that there is a family relationship between the suspect and the victims. Until this stage of the investigation, the motive that led to this serious event is still unknown.
The suspect surrendered, while during the police actions a firearm was also seized, which is suspected to have been used in the case.
The Kosovo Police, in coordination with the State Prosecutor and the relevant investigative units, is undertaking the necessary investigative actions in order to fully clarify the circumstances of the event, determine the motive and document the case,” the Police announced.
