Klevi Metaj is the 22-year-old who became one of the most commented characters of the protest
developed today in Tirana. Footage of his collision with six police officers
were quickly shared on social networks, attracting public attention.
The young man from Gjirokastra was filmed as he was involved in a physical confrontation with the officers,
before being arrested by the Police. The episode caused his name to circulate widely on the network, while many began to be interested in his identity and background.
But who is Klevi Metaj outside the footage of the protest
The 22-year-old is said to have graduated from the Faculty of Law in Tirana. A detail that stands out in his story is his family background: his father is a police officer according to Erla Mëhilli, while his mother, in a quick search on social networks, turns out to be the journalist Brikena Metaj.
Thus, a protest that started with the demands of the students put Klevi Metaj in the center of attention due to the clash with the officers. The viral footage turned her into one of the most talked about names of the day.
Recently, he was also visited in the hospital by opposition MPs where they showed his condition. The young man was lying in a hospital bed, but appeared to be in good condition: “They hit me. They hurt me a little bit. Little things,” he said.
