A student, among the young people protesting demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama, conveyed a strong message, between tears and anger, expressing the disappointment of a generation that feels abandoned and uncertain about the future.
“We went out peacefully for three months, no one listened to us. We will do this every day. We will be here every day. Do you want someone to speak? I am speaking”, said the student.
Among her demands were the resignation of Edi Rama, the improvement of conditions in the dormitories, respect for the law and the establishment of justice.
“What do we want? The first, the resignation of Rama, because he has blackened our lives. The second, the dormitories to be orderly. The third, to respect the rules and laws, to have justice. Do not use violence against the people when they demand their rights”, she declared.
The most touching moment was when the young woman revealed that she is alone in Albania, away from her family, who live in exile. With tears in her eyes, she spoke about the difficulties of life and the lack of perspective for young people.
“It's painful to live here. I don't have any family members here. My sister and brother have left. My parents are also emigrating. That's why I came here,” she said.
The student also expressed her anger at what she considers to be injustice, opposing the enrichment of the rulers with citizens' taxes, while young people face low wages and economic difficulties.
“We make beautiful towers. Where will we ever be able to buy their tower, with 530 thousand lek in salary? We are forced to live in a house with strangers we don't know at all”, she said.
In her speech, the student also demanded the removal of those she considers responsible for the situation, using harsh language towards state institutions. Meanwhile, he apologized for the private businesses that may have been damaged during the protests. In the end, she made it clear that the youth revolt will not stop, despite facing violence.
“Let them abuse as much as they want, they can't defeat our voice. Only if you kill us, you won't see us here anymore. We have nothing left to lose,” the student concluded.
