This is Erjon Vishkulli, the 28-year-old who was seriously injured in the eye during the national protest of students and youth in Tirana. The young man is in the Trauma Hospital, where, according to media reports, he underwent surgery, while his health condition is reported to be serious.
The images published by the protest showed the young man with his face covered in blood, after a serious wound in the eye area. He was urgently transported to the hospital, where he received the necessary medical assistance.
According to preliminary reports, Viskulli is suspected to have been hit with a rubber bullet during clashes with the police. However, the exact circumstances of the injury and the cause of the injury must be officially confirmed.
The biggest concern is related to severe eye damage. Until the publication of the reports found, there was no official announcement from the doctors to clarify the extent of the damage and whether the 28-year-old is in danger of losing sight in the affected eye.
Erjon Vishkulli is a well-known name for Albanian football fans. He is part of the group “Red and Black Fans” and is known as the leading fan of the Albanian National Team, having been present in stadiums in support of the Red and Black for years.
This time, however, he finds himself in a dramatic situation, away from the stadium steps. His injury during the protest raises serious concerns about the consequences of using force against citizens.
On the 12th day of the national protest, while strong clashes and the use of tear gas, pressurized water and rubber bullets were recorded on the streets of the capital, the case of Viskull is among the most serious reported during the rally.
Until an official medical update, it remains unclear whether the injury will cause permanent vision loss. His condition and the outcome of the surgery remain pending confirmation.
