The Basic Prosecutor's Office in Peja has raised well-founded suspicions that Jeton Sylaj has committed the criminal offense of “Intimidation” against his ex-wife, Arlinda Zekaj.
In the file provided by Klankosova.tv, the main focus falls on the statement of the suspect himself, who admitted threatening words to his ex-wife before the prosecutor, but it was argued that he did so in defense of their 12-year-old son.
According to the case documents, the case was initially initiated on July 10, 2026, when the injured party denounced Sylaj for domestic violence and threats. Initially, at the police station on July 14, the suspect had chosen to defend himself in silence, declaring that he would present the facts only to the state prosecutor.
In the minutes of the interrogation at the Basic Prosecutor's Office in Pejë, on July 23, 2026, Jeton Sylaj confessed his version of the event and his relationship with his ex-wife.
He has openly admitted that he used serious threatening words towards her.
“It's true that I told Arlinda the words ‘I'll drown you, I'll kill you’, but I said the same because my son felt threatened, because his mother lied, she went to my family in Deçan and my son always feels afraid of his mother... I have nothing else to add but I admit that I made threats, I only did it because of my son,” Sylaj said before the prosecutor.
The suspect claimed that their separation happened about a year ago, although they are not yet legally divorced because he lives in the USA and she lives in Kosovo.
He has accused his ex-wife, claiming that she “aimed at the money” and that she took his Kosovo passport.
