Aleksandar Vu\u010di\u010d, whose name leads the electronic list \u201cAleksandar Vu\u010di\u010d - United Serbia\u201d, declared tonight that this list lost in today's early parliamentary elections and that the \u201cStudent List\u201d won. From the headquarters of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), Vucic stated that they still do not have the final results, but that, based on the stratified sample, \u201cit is clear that they have lost these elections\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe do not have final results. Many will be surprised and you will understand how much some have lied and what they have made up. I want to inform you that the list of blocking students has won. They will have between 135 and 140 mandates, while we have about 105,\u201d said Vucic.<\/p>\n
As he added, the Alliance of Hungarians of Vojvodina is also expected to enter the parliament and a mandate is for the Albanian parities in the Presheva Valley. \u201cThe Hungarians of Vojvodina entered with three mandates and the Albanians with one mandate, as well as, I believe, the SDA, but don't take it for sure. So, we have somewhere around 1,720,000 votes. I'm telling you based on the sample, this is completely irrelevant. They have around 2,200,000,\u201d said Vu\u010di\u010d.<\/p>\n
Addressing all those who had said he would escape, Vucic declared that everything they had said was a lie. \u201cSince they said that someone would escape, would pack their bags, that someone was afraid of them, that someone would hide, they lied about everything they said. They also lied about the sound cannon, directly, of various European countries and the American deep state, the one that is against President Trump,\u201d said Vucic.<\/p>\n
He emphasized that the coalition around the SNS won wherever Serbs live in the region: in Republika Srpska, in Montenegro, in North Macedonia and everywhere else. \u201cWe won in Kosovo among the Serbs, and I know that for many people tonight is difficult\u201d, stressed Vucic. \u201cWe will fight and show what the opposition is, proud of everything we have done.\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe added that he is proud of everything his ruling party has done.<\/p>\n
\u201cSome businessmen, some people will now leave us, but our structure is very stable. We are very united, very strong; we have learned from being in the opposition. Most of us have spent more time in the opposition than in the government. As for the claims that we will not accept it, that I will announce other results, I am telling you in advance\u201d, Vucic said.<\/p>\n
Today, Vu\u010di\u010d was among the first to arrive at the electoral headquarters of this list, followed by the chairman of the Serbian Progressive Party, Milosh Vu\u010devic, Ana B\u00ebrnabi\u010d, Nemanja Starovi\u0107, Marko Djuric and other party officials and sympathizers.<\/p>\n
Early parliamentary elections in Serbia have ended at 20:00 on Sunday, October 25, while the counting of votes to determine the new composition of the Parliament has begun. The electoral process was characterized by high turnout, significantly higher than in the 2023 elections, as well as by reports of incidents and irregularities in several cities.<\/p>\n
The Republican Election Commission (RIK) announced that the official turnout by 18:00 was 64,89%, compared to 51,93% at the same hour during the December 2023 parliamentary elections.<\/p>\n
In the elections, 6,451,292 citizens had the right to vote, while 18 electoral lists, with a total of 2,418 candidates, competed for the 250 seats in the Parliament of Serbia.<\/p>\n
High turnout was recorded in some of the major cities. By 18:00, 68,971 TP3T voters had voted in Novi Sad, 69,091 TP3T voters in Nis.<\/p>\n
However, election day was also accompanied by reports of irregularities.<\/p>\n
The observers announced that they had received more than 300 reports of possible irregularities, mainly related to the photographing of ballot papers, problems with voter lists, family or group voting and obstruction of observers.<\/p>\n
Suspicions of vote buying and keeping parallel voter lists were reported in Novi Sad. The police intervened in some areas, while the Electoral Commission of the city confirmed that it had received complaints of irregularities, which were being examined. In one Dljevac, voting was temporarily interrupted after, according to election authorities, a citizen tried to vote using several identity cards. The police intervened and the process resumed.<\/p>\n
